V&R Energy is excited to contribute to the paper “Use of Advanced Technologies to Support System Integrity Protection Schemes (SIPS)” that was recently published in PAC World Magazine (Issue 072, June 2025).
Remedial action schemes (RAS) in WECC are utilized to maintain or increase the transmission system capability, mitigate adverse system impact of certain low probability/high consequence system events, and prevent events from spreading out across large regions or onto wide area system.
The paper provides overview of Special Integrity Protection Schemes (SIPS) and describes two case studies in WECC: at San Diego Gas & Electric and Pacific Gas and Electric Company. San Diego Gas & Electric’s and V&R Energy’s contribution focused on the use of RAS during online voltage stability analysis (VSA).
Since 2015, SDG&E has been running online version of the ROSE VSA software every 5 minutes. To learn more about RAS modeling during VSA, please read the full article at https://lnkd.in/dU5MEkGC
