V&R Energy’s Automated Topology Optimizer (ATO) tool increases transfer capacity to facilitate integration of large loads and generation resources by optimizing the existing transmission system and its topology.

Fully integrated into POM Suite/ROSE software, ATO mitigates post-contingency voltage and thermal violations by automatically identifying effective system reconfiguration solutions. These solutions can include switching lines and transformers, and opening switchgear to split stations.

This advanced transmission technology can mitigate congestion and reduce the impact of large-scale events, such as wildfires. It improves transmission system reliability by providing solutions for constraints that are not easily controlled and enables lower total production cost.
